Born on the Fourth of July

Happy Fourth of July! I had some folks over for the holiday last night! Here are some pics of our picnic.

I love this photo! I think it came from The Graphics Fairy, but I'm not sure.

I pilfered some hydrangeas from a friend for centerpieces.

Very simple tables today. Do you see the new flower bed? I'm in LOVE. I can't wait to do more to it.

Everyone was crowded on the deck getting food.

For the flower arrangements, I put some flat glass stones from the Dollar Tree in the bottom of some canning jars and added 3 or 4 hydrangea blooms, tucking the stems in the stones to hold them in place.

This cute fabric banner came from Target on the children's party aisle.

These buckets came from the dollar section at Target.

And everyone needs a chandelier outdoors.

I did this picnic buffet style--but we still used real china, silver, and glasses.

We had lots of yummy summer food!

Corn dogs are a must of any summer gathering.

Blueberry cobbler made from fresh picked berries.

Even more berries....

And a few pics after the sun went down. I love how the light shines through the stars!

Happy 4th! I've got lots more goodies to share, plus I'm headed now to some of my favorite antiques shops, so look for much more over the next week or so! Plus I still have some more photos from Maymont to share!
