I've had this coffee table for 4 or 5 years now, recently I re-did the display inside.
I picked up this urn at a local auction.
I love the detail and all of the original patina!
All I did was top it with a $15.00 piece of glass from a furniture salvage store. . .otherwise glass this size and thickness with a bevel would cost well over $100.00.
I filled it with some--just some--of my collection of antique and vintage mother of pearl and bone buttons.
Then topped it off with assorted rhinestone jewelry. . .
. . .brooches. . .
. . .chandelier crystals. . .
. . .Victorian belt buckles. . .
. . .single earrings. . .
. . .anything that was silver or white and sparkled. . .
Here are some more photos:
I'll be back soon with more goodies!!!

Very pretty Mikey. You know I have always wanted to do something like that. But the kids were little, and I was afraid of the glass falling. Then they grew up, and I never did.. Now we have a 80 lb Chocolate lab... no hopes of something that pretty now. Master Vic would surely knock it over. But I will enjoy yours :D
Thanx for sharing.. luv your blog!!
Cheers, Gee
That is just beyond gorgeous! I love it!
that really works with your style, but i miss the shells! one day, i will have a shell table :) one day :)
What an awesome idea! I love all of the BLING you added. The urn is perfect with the glass on top and the bling inside. Love it!!

Wow, Wow, Wow!!! This is gorgeous! LOVE your idea of using the urn, and then filling it with that delicious assortment of buttons and bling. It's stunning! I do so enjoy your creativity, Mikey.
I've followed your blog for a while but had never commented. However, this is so beautiful I just have to say: SPECTACULAR!
Perfect way to show off your bling!
I love this idea.. this would look so great in my lounge room! So now I'm on the look out for the right urn! take care, Maryann
You are so talented Mikey...what an amazing piece!
Take care,
Janet
Wow Mikey, that is beautiful. I love the idea of using that gorgeous urn as a coffee table, but filling it with all of those pretties just takes it to another level.
That is just beautiful! I have a friend who actually had a whole vintage shabby white dining room set with a glass top and she did the same thing under it...and her table was huge! She must have collected all of that bling for a long time! I love your urn, it's a nice contrast with the texture of the urn and the pearls, etc. Gorgeous!
Mikey!! This is gorgeous!!! Wow!!
Thanks so much for linking to the French party!!
The Urn is beautiful with all of the pretty jewelry. Great find also on the glass for it. Like you say, they are expensive.
I love the sparkle under glass,
Betsy
